(More customer reviews)This drive is on the heavy side. Those who are concerned about weight should not consider this one, but if you don't mind the bulk and you want performance, this is the answer. Beware that this is a RAID-0 drive, so you will find two identical drives making up the drive's capacity x2. I have had very good experience with dozens of Seagate Momentus 5400.6 drives, so this is not a problem for me. Besides, if it goes south, I will just replace the two drives inside.

FireWire performance is fairly good, but if you want absolute speed, you may want to connect this to your computer via eSATA. However, you will need to plug in the power supply. The two drives may draw too much power if you use USB 2.0. for my purpose, I like the convenience of traveling without the bulky AC power supply. I only use FW800 and FW400 when I am on the road. I leave the power to the computer's charger (through FireWire 400/800).

This case can accommodate two 9.5mm drives.
