I did a lot of research before I bought the drive. I'ma photographer and needed to have a large drive to hold and protect my thousands of digital images, plus back up two Mac's. I set it up as a Raid 1 ( duplicate of everything, but slower speed ) Follow the instructions carefully, Raid 0 is the default setup ( faster speed, one copy of everything ). I like that it has several types of input options, USB, firewire, and SATA. I use Firewire most of the time. I can use the USB to plug into my Apple Airport home network to access it wirelessly, too.

I like the design, and it's quiet.It has a standby fan shut-off to cut down on electricity.
